Okay, so I watched this movie last night with my dad (cause my brother was too freaked out to watch, lol) and it turns out that I wasn't too scared of it. Fine, a little bit... but not too much. I suppose not having any close-by neighbors helps, and having all my neighbors be nice people that I know well also is good. So, this movie was based off Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Rear Window, and according to my dad, it had elements of his style. Like, at the beginning (SPOILER), they're just driving home and then they're in this huge accident, and it completely freaks you out because it was so incredibly startling. So kudos to Hitchcock for keeping us viewers on our feet. Overall, though, it was just kind of creepy, because the bad guy was so "normal" that he was creepy. Because you just knew that something was wrong with him. Ehhh... And Carrie-Ann Moss played the mom, even though my dad didn't believe me. Haha. So yeah... It's a really good movie, not too scary that you can't sleep, but scary enough that it'll stay on your mind... SPAZ OUT

The Terminator
I'll be back... Okay, so I actually get to give this movie the credit it deserves, because it's pretty good. SO THERE. You got me to spit it out. And I made it through the movie without being freaked out of my mind, so yet another plus. Go me. But not to say there aren't scary elements... Even the ones they put in there that weren't supposed to be scary, yet were... Like when Arnie (the terminator?) cuts his face open around the eye to reveal the robo-eye underneath, after that there are scenes when he doesn't have those glasses on. (yeah, just look at the picture) So, they had to do an animatronic quiensabeque because they just didn't have the CGI technology back in the day. And they did a really bad job with reconstructing the Arnie's face, so it looked all melted, and it scared the PISS out of me. HA. Beckett, I can just imagine you laughing right about... now. But, still a good movie... So just watch it. And they never explain why the robot has an Austrian accent... Strange... SPAZ OUT

Jaws 2
I know, it's like attack of the clones with all the sequels, but I HAVE to bash this! Seriously, HOW CAN YOU HAVE A SEQUEL TO JAWS?????!!! I mean, the monstrous shark DIED, so how can there be any other sharks like it? This one was supposed to be a FREAK, but now there are more? And Hooper, my favorite character, is NOT IN IT!!! And now all I have is Chief Brody... How lame :) Also, it's like 8 people die instead of 3, so it's way more crazy shark killing spree, which is NOT the point of the movie... If it's gonna be a thriller, LET IT... Don't just have people go crazy... Like Jurassic Park -- Beckett, I watched the 3rd one, PLEASE don't bother :) Wow... I'm really hyper right now. Cough drop, perhaps? Agent, you know :) Haha, and if you actually looked at the pic, Amity means friendship... (watch me totally be wrong) OH, and the shark dies in a not-so-creative creative way: last time, it was BLOW the shark to BITS with a tank of compressed air... NOW it's let the shark BITE the POWER LINE????!!! Please tell me how this is supposed to work... But only if you're insane enough to watch this movie. SPAZ OUT

Aliens
This is interesting... Because it's a sequel with practically the same name, and it has the same plot... bad guy, robot, aliens, scared people. Except that the lady had to go back INTO the monster's lair to get the girl-child named Newt this time, and last time it was for her stupid cat, Jones, who turns into a monster thing in her dream... JUST watch the movie if you need help understanding, as I'm sure you do :) Heh, and the graphics are lame too... just to warn you, but the basic scare is good enough. Also, you never learn how to swear until you're a soldier, I've learned. Funny story -- I asked my dad if it had the same actors in the film, and he said it had Ripley in it, and I asked why the others weren't in it, and he said they had died, remember? (Obviously I didn't) So I asked how long after the first movie this one had been made, and he was like a couple of years, not that long... SO while I was thinking the ACTORS had died, my dad was reminding me that the CHARACTERS had all died (sorry to ruin it) except for Ripley. Now that I understand that, I can live my life in peace. Just watch the movie, though, okay? Cause people these days never seem to watch enough movies... Or maybe I just can't watch enough? Oh well, another of those stupid deep, metaphysical questions... Jaws
Haha! I shall own the world... Not really, but this movie was a let-down :) The shark was unbelievably fake, and it wasn't even scary... Sure, Spielberg managed a few surprises, the best one being when the shark just pops its head up out of the water and sinks back in... quite funny, though, when you are watching with a bunch of friends and only half of them react. I truly wish thati had actually been scared by this movie, because my dad told me that he had dreams of sharks walking up the STREET and attacking him... He lived in a land-locked state, however, so maybe everyone was just insane :) And the worst part about the movie was how the MEN were such idiots and decided to go out on this little boat to save a shark... Beckett and I actually came up with a possible threesome for the guys, but we were probably just hyped up on sugar. Still, it sure seemed like they, you know... No, I just think we need help. Just watch out for when he picks up the tooth!!!! SPAZ OUT

When a Stranger Calls
So, I would have to say this is the scariest movie I've ever seen... And I've seen it three times. Never a let-down, though. And I personally think that it is worse when you know what's coming. Beckett sat there and laughed as I watched, curled up on the couch, in DAYLIGHT, scared of the movie. But it WAS suspenseful... And the tiniest of things. And this actress is TEN times better than the stupid Twilight girl whose name I know but shall refrain from polluting my blog... I was actually scared, okay? There was nothing to laugh about... And try babysitting after seeing this! I will LAUGH... Though of course, I know that it's really hard to stay at home by yourself if you have the tendency to get freaked out. And there are psychopaths out there... Really, I should know :) Heh, and a bit of something actually funny -- in the credits, the stalker man and the stalker man's voice are played by two people... Can you imagine saying you were the stalker's voice for a film? How embarrassing :) I bet the actor is like 5' 2" and really chubby, balding, and smiles a LOT. SPAZ OUT

Alien
Okay, so basically this picture sums it all up... I saw it last night, and apart from butchering my nails when I filed them to give me something to do OTHER than be freaked out... I realized it really wasn't that scary. I guess I have a really high tolerance for gore, and animatronics/men in suits are hard to be scared at... But it was pretty freaky. And you can't really beat the surprises... unless you know they're coming... I was like "when does it... you know... come out of him" and my dad's like "while they're eating dinner" but I didn't even watch it... It was too scary? It can't have been to gross... There are pics on IMDB :) and they didn't scare me. But the plot was good, and it all worked... like a two second shot that just kind of stuns you. oh, and there are conspiracies!! haha... actually, there is just one... SO i think that the scariest moment was when all ther characters were looking for the surprisingly small, white alien, and it was totally silent (the director pulled a Hitchcock and didn't really use music) and all of a sudden we all hear this thunder/rain/really loud noise, and it was four inches of ICE falling off our roof... heart attack, I fear :) But no worries... It's not really timeless, but it comes close, I WAS scared... I'll admit it :) but I didn't even cower like a child like i did in another movie, Beckett you know :) Just... try it out, maybe you'll like it... SPAZ OUT
